6 Super Smoothies for Cricket Fans

So while all your favorite cricketers are sweating it out at their practice nets, do you simply slouch on your couch and put on pounds watching them? Yes, we know it is simply not possible to get off the screen when the IPL is on. Therefore, we have come with a few smoothie recipes that you can enjoy in the summers that'll also keep you fit.

Blend one fourth chopped pineapple, one banana, one peeled kiwi and yoghurt until smooth. You can add some ice cubes to get the cool effect. With high fiber content fruits like banana and kiwi, this recipe becomes a healthy option that prevents constipation and other intestinal problems.

In a blender, put in some oranges and soy milk and blend to get a frothy smoothie. Drop in 1-2 cubes of ice for a relishing drink. Having oranges keeps you well hydrated in the heat.

Summer is the season of mangoes. And the season seems incomplete without enjoying the king of fruits. So here's to a yum recipe. Take 2 small sized peaches (peeled), 2/3rd cup of mango slices (peeled), one teaspoon of honey and blend it till smooth with milk. Mangoes are a good source of minerals like copper, calcium and iron. They are also rich in antioxidants such as zeaxanthin and beta-carotene and contribute to bone health while also benefiting the skin and hair.

Who said low calories and good taste don't go hand in hand? Here's a refreshing recipe. One medium sized cucumber cut into pieces, medium sized apple peeled and cut. Put them in a blender along with one-fourth cup of mint leaves and some cold water. You'll love the feeling that follows. Cucumber is the right vegetable to beat the scorching heat. It is one of the very low calorie vegetables. Soluble fiber found in apples binds with fats in the intestine. This translates into lower cholesterol levels.

Can banana and chocolate be a combination? Yes, why not. Blend two bananas, milk, chocolate syrup, and ice. This will leave you licking your lips.

Adding chia flavor to your favorite smoothie recipes simply means doubling the benefits. These superseeds, chia, are a power house of nutrients. They are a complete protein and a great source of fiber, antioxidants, and heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids  You can soak the whole seeds for about 10-15 minutes just prior to blending and add on top or grind them into a powder before adding to your smoothie.
