Sleep late and wake up late is a common practice for most of us. And most of us are happy with this schedule. I am not suggesting that you change this schedule, all I am saying is just go through the benefits of waking up early and decide for yourself whether you should start sleeping early and waking up early.

1. Embrace the day
Being able to wake up early in the morning and embracing the new day is a warm feeling. You have to experience it yourself. Make a morning ritual for yourself which includes a ‘thank you’ prayer. You can also recite the morning prayer by Dalai Lama.

2. Kickstart your day
Sleeping late, jumping out of bed, taking a quick shower or even missing it sometimes, dressing quickly, merely grabbing a bite on the way out to work, arriving late at work looking tired and after everyone else. This is what happens if you wake up late. Getting up early in the morning gives you enough time to wake up your brain, dress up with ease and arrive at work, before your colleagues land up, with a bright look on your face.  Just by waking an hour or two early can give you time to start your day on a brighter note.

3. Experience stillness
Believe me the peace and silence of early mornings will help you collect your thoughts and make better decisions throughout the day. A stress free start in the morning will result in a stress free sleep at night.

4. Watch the Sunrise:
Sunrise is the most photographed natural phenomena in the world. Waking up early in the morning will allow you to experience this beautiful natural phenomenon every day. Starting your day by gazing at the sunrise will help you understand that this world is a beautiful place to be.

5. Eat Breakfast Leisurely
All the days I woke up late I never had time to have my breakfast in peace and many a times I skipped it too. I hope this is not your story as well, but if it is, then, like me, you are missing out on the most important meal of the day. Wake up early, fix a healthy meal and have it in peace while you browse the morning paper.

6. Workout
Waking up early will help you squeeze in an hour or so of exercise.  Exercising in the morning will charge up your whole body and leave you feeling energetic and strong.

7. Plan Your Day
If you plan all the things you need to do in the morning then you will be able to make the most out of the day.
