A corn refers to localized thickening of the skin especially on the toes, extending up to the subcutaneous tissue. Corns are usually small, painful and tender to the touch.
According to Ayurveda Corns are deemed as “ Kshudra Roga” or the less significant diseases. Ayurveda calls this condition “ Kadara” caused due to the imbalance of Kapha and Vata dosha. The above lines mean that if the sole of the foot gets violently rubbed with sand or gets injured by thorn, then small growths of the shape and size of kola fruit appear there. This is called as “kadara”.
Along with this Gulgulu Tiktaka Ghritam can be taken internally as it is an excellent formulation given for all skin diseases. Other Ayurvedic therapies like Shastra Karma (surgical removal) and Agni karma (cauterization) are also recommended.
