How to Handle Inner Ear Dizziness


Are you dizzy and nauseated? It might indicate an inner ear balance problem.

Your sense of balance is maintained by the signals that your brain receives. For instance, what you see and hear help your body to move in relation to where it is. Your inner ear with all its fine hairs and fluid helps to detect gravity and movement enabling you to do your activities. Any problem in the signals sent by the inner ear due to its malfunctioning may cause you dizziness and discomfort. You lose your sense of balance and feel like you are going to fall down. You won’t be able to walk or drive and in extreme situations you can’t even lie down as you feel that the world around you is spinning.

Your vertigo (spinning) is just a symptom. If you have Ménière’s disease, you may have vertigo, tinnitus, fluctuating hearing loss and the sensation of pressure or pain in the affected ear. Ménière’s disease may result in hearing loss of one ear. Unfortunately, there is no cure for this and only preventive measures can help a patient out. All you can do is to maintain the fluid level in your inner ear.

  • If you feel dizzy avoid sudden movement, bright lights, watching television or even reading. Sit down or lie down without delay. Take your time off and rest.
  • Do not drive. Walk carefully and light your room well to avoid accidents in the night.
  • Medications : Medications like those to improve blood circulation and those for allergies can help.
  • Make necessary changes in your diet. Reduce salt to 1500-2000 milligrams a day or take a salt-free diet. Avoid fast foods, pork products, Chinese food, cheese, frozen foods and potato chips to stay within that limit.
  • No more of caffeine or alcohol.
  • Do not take MSG foods.
  • Quit smoking.
  • Do everything to reduce stress.
  • Researchers have found that manganese deficiency is a factor leading to inner ear problems while calcium supports nervous health. Ask your doctor about taking vitamin and mineral supplements to treat the symptoms.
  • Consider taking herbal remedies to address imbalance and for the short-term relief of symptoms.
  • Cocculus and pulsatilla can help with vertigo and motion sickness. Gelsemium or bryonia enhances inner ear stability.

    I am working on an educational website and the owners wanted an article section where I put articles they indicate on the site. The articles come from news/magazine and other online article/new sources. I have been listing ?Article Taken From: (URL)? and a link to the original article. I thought that was enough, but I have heard from a friend that it isn?t. . This site is NOT yet publicly online, so I can change things to be legal before it becomes a legal problem.. . What do I need as a citation to make sure I don?t infringe on anyone?s copyright?. Do I need to do anything else other than listing a citation & link to be legal?. . Thank You all for helping!.
