Chia Seeds: Perfect For Wellness and Health

Chia seeds belong to the mint family and are found growing from Mojave Desert to Argentina. Chia was a major crop grown by the Aztecs. The roasted chia seeds were mixed with water and eaten as porridge. They were also ground into flour and used for baking.

Indians also made poultice out of chia seeds to treat health problems. It was believed that one tablespoon of chia seeds had enough energy to sustain a person for full 24 hours. Even hikers who travel long distance on foot eat chia seeds for energy.

Some of the amazing health benefits of chia seeds are:

1. Nutrition:

Chia seeds are extremely rich in protein and calcium, which is good for the health of the tissues. Chia seeds are rich in boron as well which is important for the body in assimilating and using calcium. The nutrients present in chia seeds are good for brain health.

2. Water absorption capacity:
Chia seeds have the ability to soak a lot of water. You can see it for yourself by adding one teaspoon of chia seeds in a cup filled with water, leave it for couple of hours and you will be amazed at the amount of water the seeds have absorbed. Chia seeds help you to stay hydrated for long hours. They also help in holding electrolytes in the fluids in your body.

3. Easy to digest:
The shells are easily digestible even if you swallow them whole. This is what makes it better than flax seeds. Flax seeds need to be broken down before eating in order to be digested properly. If you swallow flax seeds then they will pass out your system as it is.

4. Concentrated:
Nutrients are concentrated in chia seeds. The food value present in them is amazing. Chia seeds were eaten by men in armed forces as they provide enough energy to sustain a person for one day.

5. Lose Weight fast:
Chia seeds are miracle foods for people trying to lose weight. They have an extraordinary gelling action, which makes you feel full for many hours. Many people eat weight loss pills, which have many side effects. Instead, just eat one teaspoon of chia seeds to reduce hunger pangs for many hours.

6. Balance Blood Sugar:
If the blood sugar is balanced then you enjoy good health with proper energy levels. Blood sugar goes up after having a meal if you eat sweet and starchy foods. This will make you feel lethargic throughout the day. The gelling action of chia seeds and the presence of fibre in it reduce the conversion process of starches into sugars. Having one or half teaspoon of chia seeds along with your meal helps convert food into energy and does not make you lethargic.

7. Omega-3 oil:
This is good news for those who do not enjoy eating fish everyday or are vegetarians. Chia is one of the richest plant sources of Omega 3 oil. Chia contains more Omega 3 than salmon fish, if compared by weight. Omega 3 is important for the health of heart.

How to add chia seeds in your daily diet:
– Mix chia seeds into yogurt
– Sprinkle the seeds on cereal
– Add to salad
– Add while baking

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.

One thing is that often one of the most frequent incentives for applying your cards is a cash-back or even rebate present. Generally, you’ll receive 1-5% back upon various expenses. Depending on the cards, you may get 1% returning on most purchases, and 5% again on purchases made using convenience stores, filling stations, grocery stores and also ‘member merchants’.
